Simply Beer Club – Holiday Beer Tasting, Dec 2nd
Our first Simply Beer Club on November 7th was a huge success. We tasted through a half dozen+ stouts and had a blast discussing the beer in a fun and very educational forum.
The next edition of the Simply Beer Club will be held on Wednesday, December 2nd from 7pm to 9pm at Amanti Vino’s upstairs classroom in Montclair NJ.
Peter Kennedy of Simply Beer will host the class with Travis Glohs from Amanti Vino and John Hoyos from Hunterdon Distribution. The subject of this class is “Holiday Beers.” We will taste through an eclectic line up of seasonal beers from a host of brewers including:
- Allagash Victoria
- Tröegs Mad Elf
- Rogue Santa’s Private reserve
- Mikkeller Santas Little Helper
- St-Feuillien Cuvée de Noël
- Dogfish Head Palo Santo Marron
- Plus a couple Surprises
In addition, don’t be surprised if we brings a surprise or two from our beer cellars. In our first session we broke out a 2007 Schlafly Bourboun Aged Imperial Stout and a Lost Abbey Serpent Stout. Who knows what we’ll dredge up this time. We will also devote some time during the class to discuss pairing these beers for the holidays.
Tickets are $30 per person and must be purchased in advance of the class. To keep this a unique experience with unique beers and some special surprises, space is extremely limited, so please call Amanti Vino (973) 509-9463 to reserve your seat.
We look forward to seeing you!
That is a really great thing you got going on there. We have a little club like this down here where each month we meet at a different establishment and we sample different things within the topic for the month. A lot of people bring treats as well for afterward. I had some Bruery Two Turtle Doves and Cigar City Zhukov Humidor Series last time. Plus it’s always fun to meet like minded people or help people just getting into it. Keep up the good work with that Pete.
Thanks mike. How’d you like two turtle doves. It’s one of the ones I’m considering bring out as a “surprise”.
I really like doing these tastings, exposing people to new beer they may never have tried otherwise.
I thought Mad Elf was pretty good. That beer can sneak up on you! What’s the deadline for this? I’d love to make it but the 2nd is looking iffy right now – but there’s still a chance.
Scott, as long as there seats available there is no deadline. However we are only going to sell up to 12 tickets to keep it interactive.
I really enjoyed it and that was my first sampling of something from the Bruery. I don’t think people would be disappointed in that.
Damn, damn, damn! Kid’s basketball evaluation is tomorrow night! ARGH! You guys suck…don’t have too much fun without me!
Not to worry, this is going to be a monthly event or skip the kids Bball 😉
I’m trying to schedule them further out and for Fri/Sat nights going forward. Also, Sign up for the emailing list.
