Hacker-Pschorr Anno 1417 Kellerbier
An acquaintance of mine suggested I try this beer Hacker-Pschorr Kellerbier. I haven’t had many kellerbier’s, so having a recommendation and basically reviewing a new style of beer is pretty exciting to me. Kellerbier, meaning “Cellar Beer”, style is a old rare style of German lager that tends to be unfiltered and unpasteurized.
Pour:
Great pop when opening the flip top. Beer needed a good hard pour to get any sort of head.
Aroma:
Very strong yeasty aroma with a hint of lemon.
Appearance:
Beer was a golden color, slightly hazy with a very white head with a slight bit of carbonation.
Taste:
Crisp taste with a slight spice with a bit of apple. This beer had no real dominant flavors, nothing particularly stuck out.
Drinkability:
This was a balanced beer, it goes down smooth. The yeast and spice of the hops compliment the other nicely.
Tasting Method: 500ml Pop Top
My Rating: 8.7
