Old Plowshare Stout

Another organic brew for you.  I like the fact that the brewers have the awareness to appreciate the benefits of both the environmental and health impact of less pesticides.  From first pour you could appreciate the deep color and frothy head.  So deep was the color it appeared black, but when put to the light you could see that it was just dark red brown.  It had a nice carbonation to it and a smooth roasty taste.  It was refreshing but almost a bit too simplistic.  I struggled to pull out all the characteristics as it had that same ‘drinkability’ of the Wolaver Brown Lager I sampled previously.  Almost a bit watered down, but it was certainly a bit more complex.  All in all I enjoyed this stout and appreciate the care taken by the folks at North Coast Brewery.
